DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION / REQUIREMENTS:

We are looking for experienced social workers to join our teams at the Children's Home in Parwanipur, near Birgunj and Child Helpline in Birgunj. Social Workers will be responsible for daily care and counselling of the children, ensuring that they receive relevant education/activities, liaising with the children's authorities and police, planning for the future of the children (i.e. planning relevant skills training sessions), general running of the home, including basic finance. The Child Helpline Social Workers will be responsible for Outreach Work so a lot of time will be spent in villages locating children that need our assistance and performing surveys. These social workers can be based in other parts of Province 2.

Experience

At least 5 years of experience working with children is a must for the Parwanipur role and 2 years experience for other roles, and ideal candidates will have the ability to communicate with a variety of stakeholders. Some spoken and written English ability and basic computer skills (excel, email, and ideally Google Drive) required. We are looking for an honest, hard working people who will always put the best interest of the children first.

The Parwanipur role is a live in one, near Birgunj so please only apply if you are happy to be located there. Other roles can either be live in or you can work from where you are located if you are based in Province 2. We are ideally looking for candidates from the area or those who have spent some time in Terai, and understand/speak local languages (Bhojpuri, Maithili) but qualified candidates from other areas of Nepal will also be considered if they are willing to learn the local language with time.
